Srinagar, Oct 29 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government has said that a total of 920 youth holding professional degrees in Physical Education (B.P.Ed/M.P.Ed) are registered as unemployed in the Union Territory.
In a written reply to a question by MLA Shabir Ahmad Kullay, the Labour & Employment Department, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), informed that the consolidated data was collected from the Jammu and Kashmir Employment Portal ([www.jakemp.nic.in](http://www.jakemp.nic.in)), which is integrated with the National Career Service (NCS) portal of the Government of India.
“As per the registered data, 476 candidates holding M.P.Ed and 444 holding B.P.Ed degrees are unemployed. However, registration of unemployed youth is voluntary and not mandatory,” the department stated.
The reply further included information from the Youth Services and Sports Department, detailing initiatives for youth engagement, infrastructure development, and sports promotion across districts.
The government also highlighted ongoing efforts under the Mission Youth Scheme, establishment of Centres of Excellence, and development of indoor stadiums, playfields, and sports infrastructure across the Union Territory—(KNO)
